This pinot noir won Gold and then the Trophy at the 2017 Australian Highlands Wine Awards.
It is very much in the tradition of the multi award winning 2015. It is a slightly bigger wine than the 2015 but still very Burgundian in style.
Medium density red/purple colour leads to black cherry and plummy aromas mixed with subtle cedar notes from the French oak. Medium palate weight reaffirms the cherry characteristics.
The tannins are firm and evenly balanced. This wine is an excellent accompaniment to duck and other red meats. It will continue to gain complexity as it ages.
