Boutique wines made with care
At Rotherwood, distinction matters in everything we do – from the nurturing of the soil to the final picking of the fruit, from the choice of winemakers to our total commitment to excellence.
Rotherwood Pinot Noir 2015
Rotherwood Pinot Noir 2016
This pinot noir won Gold and then the Trophy at the 2017 Australian Highlands Wine Awards. It is very much in the tradition of the multi award winning 2015. It is a slightly bigger wine than the 2015 but still very Burgundian in style.
Rotherwood Sauvignon Blanc 2016
The sauvignon blanc vines were planted in 2007. The planting consisted of the F4V6 clone grafted onto 101-14 rootstock. Sauvignon blanc grapes do well in the Highlands producing a wine that is quite different to the bulk of sauvignon blanc on the market – balanced and with surprising finesse.
Rotherwood Pinot Grigio 2015
The pinot gris clone D1V7 and the pinot grigio clone VCR5 were grafted onto three rootstocks, 101-14, Telecki 5 C and Schwarzman and planted in 2007. At Rotherwood we strive to make a wine that occupies the centre ground of the pinot gris / pinot grigio spectrum. We pick when the grapes reach a brix of 22 or 23. We should perhaps label our wine a “Pinot G”.
Rotherwood Pinot Grigio 2016
There are subtle differences with the multi award winning 2015 but this vintage is very much in the tradition of the mid-range style that we strive to capture. Pale-mid bronze. Attractive nose with good varietal fruit – white peach and pear. Good intensity.
Rotherwood Rose 2016
A blend of our award winning pinot noir and pinot grigio grapes it is pale fuchsia pink in colour. This delicately flavoured rosé shows strawberry and stone fruit aromas. The palate is soft and medium bodied, finishing dry.
